How does a word become learned?
Every word you save has four dots. Get it right in Flashcards and a dot fills in, one a day at most. Fill all four and it's learned for good. Miss it and it comes back the next day.
Where do the stories come from?
Headlines and short summaries are from RTÉ News. Daily Scéal adds the Irish and links to the full story on rte.ie.
Where do the translations come from?
Most words come from a hand-checked dictionary, and the rest are machine translated so the stories can go out every morning. Flashcards and the gap fill game only use the hand-checked words. Spot one that could be better? Tell me and it gets fixed for good.
